Who is Better U?

My name is Angel Gressel, DNP, PMHNP-BC. I am a clinician dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services to our rural community. Having lived in Northwestern Pennsylvania all my life, I bring over twenty years of experience navigating the complexities of the mental health system in Pennsylvania.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, both from Gannon University. Additionally, I earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Capella University and a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Wilkes University. I am board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and have obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Gannon University.

My professional background includes working as a psychiatric nurse practitioner within the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, as well as 20+ years in community mental health and residential programs in various roles. I have had the privilege of helping adults facing challenges such as stress, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Additionally, I have experience working with children and adolescents, tailoring my treatment approaches to meet their developmental needs while involving families in the healing process.

In my practice, I strive to combine clinical expertise with empathy, humility, and a collaborative spirit. I believe that developing meaningful therapeutic relationships is essential, built on trust, mutual respect, and shared goals. My approach is holistic and patient-centered, emphasizing not only symptom management but also lifestyle, identity, and long-term well-being. My ultimate goal is to assist individuals in building resilience, reconnecting with their strengths, and fostering meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of my professional responsibilities, I find great joy in my family. As a devoted wife and mother of four, I love supporting my children at their games, enjoying family vacations, and cherishing the small but significant moments that highlight the importance of strong mental health, rooted in supportive relationships.

I remain committed to addressing the psychiatric service needs of our local, rural, and regional communities.
